Social Media / Content Manager

As a Social Media/Content Manager, the strategic growth and the creation of multiple brand channels that truly connect a brand to their community is your jam. You’ll work with the Creative Director and Account Managers to create develop strategies and create content, then keep your finger on the pulse through the implementation of these strategies for both Roadmap’s and our client’s accounts. You are a team player who enjoys working strategically across all mediums and measuring the results and presenting back to the client and optimizing each platform’s performance. You will be responsible for content creation, monitoring accounts and communicating on different channels, all in the client’s own unique voice. In more complex implementations you’ll keep your ear to the ground by conducting research efforts like social listening and diving into competitor accounts.

Job Duties

  • Creating various forms of written content, such as writing and editing for emails, blogs, website copy, digital ads, and working with internal and external content teams
  • Show a high level of attention to details specifically with proofreading
  • Understand each client’s foundational language and target audience to develop content that reflects the brand and speaks to individual audience sets’ needs and wants
  • Collaborate with the Account Manager and creative teams to ensure there is continuity and alignment
  • Grow account followings with relevant audience sets
  • Create original, clear ideas and content with strong calls to action where required
  • Work with the Digital Marketing Specialist to support with social media ad management
  • Analyze metrics to create reports with recommendations on improvements and reports on specific campaigns
  • Fact check all content to ensure it is truthful and accurate
  • Work collaboratively and cross functionally with the team
  • Be timely and quick to any issues that arise on social accounts through monitoring and escalate where required

Desired Qualifications

  • 2-3 years Inbound Marketing experience in a social media and content writing role
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in journalism, communications, marketing or equivalent
  • Market Research experience
  • Experience with Sprout, Hootesuite, HubSpot, and similar platforms is valued
  • Strong attention to detail in terms of grammar and spelling
  • Versatile writing styles are clear and have the ability to entice and persuade 
  • Strong knowledge of ever-changing social media platforms and advertising
  • Time management, scheduling and project management skills
  • Skills in photography and videography would be a bonus!
  • Google Certification would be considered an asset
  • Graphic design skills would be an asset

It is important to have an understanding of the marketing industry and the full customer journey, your portfolio of work should demonstrate the skills noted above.  

This is a full-time, remote position. Canadian Residents Only.

Salary range is $50-$60,000 annually, based on experience. Our compensation package includes a fully funded benefits plan, RRSP matching program, charitable giving program, education allowance, and bonus incentives.
